How Do You Avoid Boredom On the Train?

My train commute is about 50 minutes – it wasn’t until my third ride when I realized I was going to have to have some sort of system to keep myself entertained – yes I am like a 5-yr-old.

My first idea was to take out my laptop – but I remembered that, as far as I’m concerned, a laptop without an internet connection is about as entertaining to me as a brick. To add insult to injury, my ‘thin and light’ 14-in Dell Notebook cant even be fully opened on my lap in the cramped New Haven line seats (from what I understand, this is not an issue on the Hudson Line, which has fancy newer cars which I slobber over when they are parked on the opposing track at Grand Central – I have a buddy who watches DVDs on his the whole ride).

In upcoming posts I will be discussing some of the ways I stay out of boredomville on the train – until then tell us how you avoid boredom during your commute in our forum:
