OK, here is one for the record books.
Yesterday Ricardo Chavez, 37, for reasons unknown to anyone so far, was riding on top of a Stamford-bound Metro-North train.
Around the time the train was approaching Pelham station, power was switched from the third rail to the train’s overhead catenary lines, delivering over 11,000 volts of electricity to Chavez and setting his coat on fire.
There are conflicting reports on what happened next -

MyFoxNY reports the man was tangled in the pantographs and it took electricians an hour to remove him from the top of the train. The New York Post reports the train actually pulled into Pelham station and he simply rolled off the roof onto the platform.
Either way, it is reported that the man was largely unfazed, and was taken to Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx for burns to his arms and back, where he was reported in good condition Friday night.
