25 days ago, a sweet little 7-month-old black kitten named Georgia jumped out of her carrier on the 59th st subway platform and disappeared down the tracks - much to the dismay of Bronx Librarian Ashley Phillips, 24, her owner.
Since that fateful day in January, MTA workers have made a commendable effort to find the little feline, and on February 17 track worker Mark Dalesssio actually went around the location she was last seen - meowing like a cat in hopes of finding her.
I mean, its a cat, and its been missing about a month, and a transit worker is walking the track meowing for it.
In my book, thats just awesome.

(above) This is not Georgia, but is instead just a a very cute lazy cat.
Sure enough, Mark got a ‘meow’ right back, and there was little Georgia hiding in a drain. Besides a broken leg, some dehydration, and her likely newfound phobia of public transportation, she was none the worse for wear.
A $1,500 reward for finding Georgia will be split among Georgia’s three rescuers - NYC Transit workers Mark Dalessio and Efrain LaPorte and Con Ed meter reader Christopher Cuddy, who originally spotted her a week ago.
