		<description>Thanks for your very informative post. I also enjoyed your humor.  I installed my cat door in June and it was a dream until recently (October).  No changing the litter box all summer - they just favored nature&#039;s great big litter box instead.  But now I have the exact same problem you write about. Raccoons, chipmunks, and birds, Oh my! I will try several of your suggestions. One additional one I may try since they don&#039;t like ammonia, is I may start marking my territory (peeing around my property line). I don&#039;t know if the smell of human urine detracts them, but it may be worth a try.</description>

		<description>I am glad to have found this info. I moved to Toronto from a location that does not have raccoons. I have a sysytem with my cat rigged that I can close the door behind her and she can puh it open to come in when she wants. Today, i am watching the debate and I notice a striped tail next to me. Its a raccoon, being followed by my cat. Not deterred by me, or John McCain droning on and on.
I am waiting for my cat door to arrive from ebay-I never considered raccoons though, and it is not a raccoon safe door.....
Oh well. At least other people have this experience.</description>
