TJ over at TrainJotting tried to bstick it to the man by purchasing his March Metro-North ticket now to avoid paying the fare increase which happens on March 1st. Unfortunately, while Metro-North seems behind the 8-ball technology-wise most of the time, it seems their superadvanced ticket machine overlords are plenty capable of charging the hike for future tickets.
The good news was that the fare hike for his particular ticket was on the very low end of the projected fare hike range of 3.76%-4.25%.
