Police report a 39-year-old woman was struck and killed by a Metro-North train just a mile east of the Westport train station in an likely suicide attempt Saturday night. The train conductor had seen the woman and set the brakes and horn to no avail.
ConnPost.com reports “[the victim]…was hit by the train at about 6:25 p.m. in the area of the Hillspoint Road overpass, said Metro North spokeswoman Marjorie Anders.”
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
