Update: Walt Mossberg says the iPhone will be released June 4.
This just coming through the internets today, although the rumor has come up before…
Many analysts are saying that a number of indicators point to a June or July release date of the 3G version of the iPhone.
Ever since its release, many users have failed to move from competing platforms such as the Blackberry because of lack of high-speed internet service on the iPhone. The iPhone uses pokey and ancient EDGE technology – which, although theorectically capable of much higher speeds, is typically well below the 1Mbps download speeds most mobile users expect these days.
I carefully decided my phone choice when the iPhone came out, and was happy with my choice to go with a 3G Blackberry connected to an Exchange server. I will go more into the pros and cons of the iPhone vs Blackberry in a later post.
