You may have noticed we have made a lot of significant changes this weekend at StationStops.
- We got rid of the big image ads on the blog, and replaced them with Google Ads, which are less obnoxious and more relevant.
- We moved the blog title into the logo banner and moved everything up a few inches so you can see more content without scrolling.
- We optimized the banner logo to about 1/3 of the size of the old one, so that it will load faster.
- We implemented advanced caching, so the pages should load faster.
- We implemented a ‘Related Posts’ feature to the end of articles, so you can see other related articles.
- We added a ‘Contact Us’ page - way overdue!
- We updated the About page.
- We added the ability to subscribe to posts via email (see upper left box) and made RSS adds easier.
- We added an Archives page.
- We switched to Google for site search.
- We added the number of posts to each category.
- We increased the number of recent posts on the left sidebar to 15.
- We ditched the goofy graphic linking to metro-north schedules.
- Sidebar content has been rearranged.
- Frontpage articles have been increased to 10.
- We took all our sidebar hacks and folded them neatly into Wordpress widgets.
We hope you like the changes.
If you don’t you can use the new Contact Us page and complain!
