Two People Wanted For Questioning By Greenwich Police In Riverside Walgreens Beating In Walgreens VideoLeft: The video surveillance footage from Walgreen’s Pharmacy in Riverside taken March 12 shows the individuals wanted for questioning. (Greenwich Police Department)

An unidentified Greenwich man, 50, who is partially blind, was beaten and robbed outside the Riverside Walgreens pharmacy on March 12 at 1 AM, according to the Greenwich Police.

Two individuals captured on Walgreens surveillance video are wanted for questioning in the attack.

Greenwich Time (which curiously frontpaged the story on their website this morning without the photographs) also posted the description of the individuals in the video as described by Greenwich Police:

Man Wanted By Police For Questioning In Riverside Walgreens Beating“…a well dressed black female, about 5 foot 3 inches in height, with black hair cut in bangs, wearing a white jacket and dark slacks.

The second subject is described as an athletic black male with a medium complexion, unshaven face, approximately 6 feet tall, medium build, and wearing a dark baseball hat, blue jeans, and a black, white, and blue shouldered jacket. “

The reason the incident had not been reported earlier was that the man had been in a confused state after the attack and could not remember if he had simply fallen. Police reported that they have confirmed the assault actually took place by other means. The man suffered a multiple facial fractures in the assault.

That is awful. That must be a 24-hr Walgreens, I guess. Damn.
On a lighter note, your post reminds me that I have forgotten to get the G’wich Time’s new rss feed.
I love your local posts, keep them coming!!!

Thanks for writing and please let us know of any progress in the case.

I was very disappointed with Greenwich Time having a frontpage story about this and not posting the images on their website.

I had to go to the Greenwich Police directly to obtain the images.

I cannot believe this!!! Didn’t anyone try to help this young man. I am sad about the world today. No one wants to get involved and I think all criminals know that! Please help find the people responsible for this horrific crime!! My heart goes out to the family, I know them well. My prayers are with them.

    sister of victim -

As you might have read in a post this week I have been giving the Stamford Advocate a hard time about their lazy attitude towards printing pictures, but to tell you the truth I don’t know what more can be done.

Chris - please feel free to email me any contacts you have. The police suspect these folks live in STAMFORD as the car appears to have gone down Sound Beach Avenue when it left the scene. We REALLY need to get this story out to as much of the Greenwich and Stamford area as possible. It is all we have to go on. I am asking Det. Fuscella to get the Shell station tapes which shows the assailant running back towards the camera. For all to know - this happened along Rt 1/Post Road outside the Riverside Commons just past the Shell station. My brother left Walgreens, where these pictures are from, and was followed by the thug. The woman drove the get away car. They are working on improving the tapes (it was midnight and dark out) to try and identify the car. Thanks for all your help!

I went to the Stamford Advocate office to pick up back copies. The advocate printed the story on April 10th, page A 14 without pictures. I was told that there were no pictures because there was “no room” and yet the page had 6 ads on it. I find this excuse ignorant and unacceptable. I emailed all the editors and reattached all my flyers. I have not received on email back.
    Any further advice?
