Subway groper Freddie Johnson was arrested Wednesday after groping a woman on a no. 6 train in Manhattan. Undercover police had tracked Johnson onto the train after recognizing him from a photograph.

Johnson, 49, is one of the few sexual offenders in New York who is on lifelong parole for his offenses – and this violation may very well land him in prison for life. Although he is forced to wear an ankle bracelet as part of his parole, ironically it does not work on the subway, one of his favored places to engage in inappropriate contact with women. 30 of his 53 offenses occurred on the subway.

Other terms of his parole include a 7 PM curfew, and is forbidden to have contact with pornography, drugs, criminals, children under 18. He is also not allowed to travel using the subway, except as needed to get to work.
