T-Mobile 3G Service In New York City To Launch May 1st

April 30th, 2008 by Chris (Admin) · No Comments

T-Mobile has maintained a special niche in the market by providing products such as the Blackberry with low-priced data plans. This is largely because T-Mobile is the last 3G holdout in the US wireless space - amazingly, they still only offer EDGE service to its customers.

Reports and rumors about T-Mobile aquiring and assembling its own 3G network, as well as vaporware rumors of actual product launches, have circulated for years, but T-Mobile remains the slowest wireless data provider there is.

Recently, stronger and more detailed rumors have surfaced which indicate a time and place - May 1st, New York City. Supposedly, this is when T-Mobile UTMS/HSDPA service will rollout in NYC, and then follow throughout 2008 in other cities.
