Last month we reported on a fuel spill at the Croton-On-Hudson Metro-North facility (near the station). Over 17,000 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled into the ground on March 29, which MTA hired contractors to come in and clean up.
Today crotonblog.com (the source of the original story and above photo), is reporting that the Westchester County Department Of Public Safety is filing criminal charges against Metro-North Railroad and Kenneth McHale, 56, assistant director of environmental services and compliance for Metro-North.
Investigation revealed that a pipe designed to thwart such a spill had been disconnected at the time of the accident.
