Recently I bought a Canon HG10 HD Camcorder. My plan was to shoot some videos and post them on the site. Here is the first one – the Mianus River park in Stamford. It’s just some simple footage of the river with natural sounds. The preview below is not HD – you have to mouseover and go to Vimeo for the HD version (which isnt that great – the original file is outstanding but Vimeo screws around with it a bit).
The coolest part of the HG10 is that it has a hard drive -it doesn’t use tapes or disks. As a result, you don’t have to ‘capture’ clips from the tape, you just drag and drop the video files over USB *exactly* like a digital still camera. It’s heaven.
