At the Apple WWDC keynote on Monday, Apple demoed its new AJAX-based, cross-platform web applications for email and calendaring.
Named ‘MobileMe’, the applications are clearly targeted at successful webmail/calendaring apps such as Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, and Hotmail/Live Mail, and promise to integrate fully with the iPhone.
Unlike similar services, MobileMe will cost $99/year, and replaces Apple’s previous online service, .Mac.
