Apple Stores Go Down Before Steve Jobs WWDC Keynote

During My favorite part of Apple marketing has to be the ‘downing’ of their retail websites prior to a new product release.

As any web developer knows – not only is this COMPLETELY unnecessary in order to add, remove, or change products from a website – its almost universally and specifically avoided so that sales are not affected.

Apple has a completely different approach – they specifically “down” their website prior to a product release in order to stimulate their customers. It’s all great 21st century marketing theatre.

The funny part is that it works, because here I am writing a blog post about it.

For those of you who have been living under a rock the last month, Steve Jobs is expected to announce the release of the new 3G iPhone within minutes at the WWDC.

Cooool here comes the new iPhone!
Now, I just need it to work with T-mobil and/or be easily hackable, and then I can get it.
