Update: Spyros, the guy in the photo who was hit by the ball, tells StationStops:
“I have never been treated so horrible in my life by the Mets staff. They yelled at me for bleeding all over the medical offices in shea and basically treated me like I stole something. I asked for a new t shirt because mine was covered in blood and they said no. I called them today to get some answers and they did not return my call. My nose is broken yes and it hurts. I appreciate the blog and your comments…it made my day”
I brought my Panasonic FZ18 Ultrazoom Digital Camera to the Mets – Diamondbacks games tonight at Shea.
This poor guy in the stands behind us took a FAST foul ball right in the nose, this was seconds after it happened.
He came back later to cheers and seemed ok – his girlfriend next to him was holding a bag of ice to his face. A champion Mets fan and a great girlfriend!
A mini-tornado entered the stadium before the 7th inning (tied 5-5), and everyone started running out of the stadium while a brutal thunderstorm hammered Queens.
