3G iPhone Launch Hit Bumps In The Road, But Postively Received

July 11th, 2008 by Chris (Admin) · 1 Comment

The 3G iPhone went on sale in the US at 8AM this morning to generally positive reviews.

Folks are reporting that data speeds are very good as expected (where you can get 3G), call sound quality is much improved over the original, although voice reception is still a little below par.

As for the new iPhone apps, there seems to be some good ones, although many of the well-received ones are little more than services available over the web which have been ported into an iPhone App to avoid scrolling all around web pages in the browser.

Some of the major issues right now are the lack of availability of the new MobileMe service (update: its up now), some people having issues with 2.0 software updates on their original iPhone, and the software upgrade for the iPod Touch being available briefly and then removed.

There was line outside the AT&T store in Wilton/Norwalk at 8:45 am today. I’m sure it was 3G related.

Don’t ask how I know. I just, unfortunately, do.
