The Big Bang Theory [New Fall TV Season]

September 2nd, 2008 by Chris (Admin) · 1 Comment

The Big Bang Theory
8 p.m. Mondays, CBS (premieres Sept. 22)

I’m a geek, so I love The Big Bang Theory – but you don’t have to be a geek to appreciate it, because it stands on its own as a solid sitcom. The Big Bang Theory is just a sugar-coated guilty-pleasure sitcom that is consistently funny.

The premise is that two very young and goofy yet brilliant scientists share an apartment, play Halo with their nerd friends, and drool over their very un-nerdy hot blonde next door. It has all the potential setup for sitcom disaster, yet pulls it off with aplomb.

As Sunny proves, there are a lot of innovative ways to make a sitcom work – The Big Bang Theory uses none of them. The Big Bang Theory is dyed-in-the-wool, unapologetic generic sitcom. Its secret is similarly fundamental – write a lot of jokes that make people laugh to keep them from changing the channel. I’m in!

We love love love Big Bang Theory. It is so well written - the ability to translate “I’m rubber your glue” into chemistry laden jargon is hilarious. Can’t wait for the new season.

Monday is the best CBS comedy night - How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men. Good times.
