I like a good TV show. I get really annoyed with people who discard TV out-of-hand as some sort of time-wasting wasteland – most of these people don’t have a TiVo.
I have had a TiVo since 1998, when I was working at Yahoo! and we were being thrown free stuff left and right in the hopes to forge partnerships (Yahoo! now has some significant interactive content on TiVo). A co-worker was the first to discover it, and insisted I try it out – I was floored.
Discovering TiVo is one of those events that makes you buy a lot of electronic gadgets in hopes of having a similar life-changing experience.
I waited patiently (very patiently) for TiVo to release their HD TiVo, which I purchased when it came out. It was very expensive then but a comparative bargain today, and you couldn’t pry it from my cold dead hands.
That said, it is really important to make sure you keep up on the TV schedules to make sure you program your TiVo to record the shows you want to watch. TODAY would be a really good day, because the new fall schedule is already upon us.
This week I will review some of my favorite shows I have programmed into my TiVo. Hopefully I will reveal a few you haven’t seen before and encourage you to try it out.
