I was going to write you about how annoying I find people that read over my shoulder on Metro North, but I have a new one…

Vermin.

I was sitting on the train in a window seat yesterday, about to fall asleep, when a cockroach marched across the wall in my direction. I tried to nail it with my shoe, but it scurried behind the seat in front of me before I could kill it.

I assume that MN sprays its trains for roaches (bad assumption?), so the people to blame are all of us.

Leave your garbage on your seat, under your seat, wedged between the window and the seat, and the roaches are thrilled. So come on people, throw away your trash. And don’t read over people’s shoulders. Go buy your own paper.

Adoringly, Riverside Rider

Ed. - I was going to post a picture of a cockroach with this story, but we all know what they look like, and just seeing a few pictures of them skeeved me out.

I think I’ve sat next to Riverside before. I was reading a paper over her shoulder and she hit me with her shoe. Hmmmm.
