It’s On - Obama and McCain Will Debate Tonight

September 26th, 2008 by Chris (Admin) · 1 Comment

John McCain has announced that he will attend the Presidential Debate tonight at 9 PM Eastern Time, which will be televised live on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.

Leading up to the current economic collapse, McCain was closing the gap on Obama’s lead fairly quickly, and when the economic situation came up, McCain was looking for an excuse to avoid any changes of opinion that might happen during the debates - by not attending them!.

The reaction to the economy saw voters running back to Obama in the polls, - McCain now realizes his sitting out the debates would be disastrous. As much as the Presidential and (especially) Vice-Presidential debates are likely to hurt McCain, he realizes that failure to show up may in fact forfeit the election.

Tonight is going to be some great television.

McCain getting back into the debate is a purely political move, like everything else he does… it’s not that he wants to inform Americans or demonstrate his know-how, he just thought thought not showing up to the debates would make him look bad
