Hanging Chads: The Inside Story of the 2000 Presidential Recount in Florida

CNN has been really pushing voters to call in and let them know about any problems they are having voting throughout the country - and not only are they reporting on these issues as they come up, they are also following up in many cases and calling precincts to get them to account for the problems while the polls are still open.

Among the problems:

-Some callers reported that they had been informed (don’t remember how) that due to problems in their precinct, voting would take place tommorrow - obviously a scam to keep certain voters out of the voting booth.

-Voters in some precincts are reporting 5-6 hour lines, and that many voters are dropping out of line as a result.

On a related note, CNN just reported that the McCain/Palin campaign has been robocalling Cuban-Americans in Florida letting them know that Fidel Castro has put his support behind Barack Obama, and encouraging them to get out to the polls and vote for McCain before its too late.
