Before moving to Greenwich in 2006, I spent 11 years living in California’s Sonoma Wine Country.

Sonoma County is just plain gorgeous, and many of the winemakers there are some of the least pretentious, down-to-earth, friendliest people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting.

…and so it is with my very good friends Mike Brunson and Jay Kell. Both have years of experience growing fruit and making wine for the prestigous Sonoma County label of Michel-Schlamberger, and now have their own label, Verge.

If I had my way, I would sit down every reader with Jay and Mike to have a glass of wine, just so you could have the pleasure of their company and get to know these guys.
