Electronic Frontier Foundation Briefed on StationStops vs MTA

Electronic Frontier Foundation Senior Staff Attorney Matthew Zimmerman called me yesterday by telephone, and I briefed him on StationStops’ legal battle with the MTA.

The call was initiated by Michael Perkins of Greater Greater Washington, a blog which has provided some of the most in-depth and well-researched information on MTA’s licensing.

I want to thank Michael for the exceptional job and personal assistance he has offered.

Matt expressed interest in the case and said he would forward it to EFF’s blog editor for a possible story on their site.

As StationStops’ legal counsel is secure in its position regarding MTA IP claims, and MTA has recently expressed a desire to settle the matter reasonably, we agreed there was no need for legal assistance from the EFF at this time.

But I appreciate them calling and getting involved.
