Now The Stamford Advocate has obtained DOT emails even prior to the video date which indicate that not only did Rell know about the rising estimates, but was angered by it:

“…an e-mail dated Sept. 10, 2007 from Lisa Moody, Rell’s chief of staff, to then-DOT Commissioner Ralph Carpenter. Moody wrote that Rell was “horrified by the cost estimates of the rail facility” and wanted a breakdown of the then-$600 million estimate. “She wants to cut back on the project,” Moody wrote. “

Yikes! Sounds like the governor’s office really needs to bone up on their procedures for maintaining plausible deniability.

Seeings as that the new New Haven Train Yard, which is required to maintain the new cars, is horrifically overbudget and hasnt even been bid on yet, this replica may be the closest thing to a new train car New Haven line passengers can experience for some time to come.

The Rail Yard upgrade, which are designed to accommodate the arrival of new M-8 Metro-North train cars in late 2009, was originally projected at $300 Million, but is now estimated at $1.7 Billion. Rell claims she was not kept informed of the budget overruns by DOT.

In the video, shot at a 2006 New Haven Rail Yard ribbon-cutting, H. James Boice, a deputy commissioner for the Department of Transportation, states the planned rail yard upgrade will cost $800 million, with Rell looking on. Apparently the governor admits to hearing the statement, but thought the other $500M Boice referred to was for ‘some other projects’ at the Rail yard she wasn’t immediately aware of, and didn’t bother asking for clarification.

Cause, yknow, if you don’t, then you’ve also broken this Federal law ironically called ‘The Mann Act‘ (which reminds me of this joke about transporting gulls across state lions for immortal porpoises, but evidentially a lot of other bloggers already made that connection).

Oh, and if that wasnt enough, The New York Times suggests that Spitzer might have gone all the way and used campaign funds to pay for his hookers. Of course he did.

I was trying to come up with a good image to go with this story and came up empty – however, I did find this amazing video of a pole dancer – she is not a stripper or exotic dancer at all, she does pole dancing as exercise and for fun – she is really amazing and could be a gymnast.
